1979 Jawa Artwork by Mark Corcoran
The 1979 Star Wars kids’ illustrated book, The Mystery of the Rebellious Robot* has some pretty rough and great artwork, and flipping through the book again this two-page spread showing Jawas sabotaging machinery jumped out. This is the best art in the book! I know this isn’t the sort of slick, polished artwork we see in Star Wars books these days, but the rough charm makes this a glorious piece of art and I wish we could get a peek at the original illustration.

I had that one! Still looking for it in one of the boxes to pluck out and read to my daughter. Loved the artwork–especially the iridescent gas-pool coloring. Some great character renderings in that book.
