1981 Atari “Missile Commander” Newspaper Ad
What strikes me as most unusual about this 1981 newspaper advertisement is that the game is called Missile Commander. I’m familiar with Missile Command, but I’ve not heard of “Missile Commander” and I am left with one conclusion: The ad is wrong. Can anyone here help me out? Is there a “Missile Commander” game for the Atari that I have overlooked all of these years?
I agree:the ad is wrong. The font used gives the only credence, but I grew up with that era (never having heard of it on consoles or home systems). Even this agrees we us:
