Review – World War Robot Warbot Bertie

Manufacturer: ThreeA Toys * Year: 2010

NOTE: This is now day eight of Robots and Mecha Week! here at battlegrip.com. The robots just won’t stop coming . . . which makes them unstoppable robots. Send help!

Here is the only Bertie in the World War Robot* Bertie 7 Pack (master review here) to have a unique head; see the two eye holes? That makes him twice as “seeing” as the other six Berties in the box, since he’s the only one with two eye holes. But there have to be more plans for this tooling, otherwise 3A spent bucks to create just a single robot toy like this and that would be an expensive choice to make. I’m not saying there will definitely be another two eyed Bertie, but I fully expect there will be at least one more.

Dual Pistol Action

Warbot Bertie is the other exclusive Bertie in the pack (the first, Dirty Deeds Bloody Edition, has already been reviewed) and this guy is awesome. And it’s not just that he has two eyes, it’s that he’s carrying two pistols and he looks great when he’s posed with both guns drawn. Big, scary robots with two pistols look fantastic, as you can see for yourself in the photos here. I especially love that shot above.

Skull Face!

He may not be the only skull-faced Bertie design, but Warbot Bertie’s skull design is the most intense paint app we find in the Bertie 7 Pack The white skull, made mostly of stylized splatters and a purposefully-rough paint app, pops off of the black paint of the robot’s dome head. In looking back at the photos in this review I can see the glare from the lighting washes out the dome head a little more than I would have liked, but you can always check the review at CollectionDX for more pics of the toy. And if you want even more then hit the Berties photo thread at the 3A forum.

I Bet You Guys Are Sick of World War Robot Berties by Now

Just one more Bertie to review, and then a quick look at all seven Squares in the box (which will be mostly pics since the toys are just tiny versions of the World War Robot Squares I reviewed last year), and then our detailed look at the fourteen robots in the Bertie 7 Pack will be complete. I hope you guys have been enjoying the photos, even if the words I’ve been posting have gone from informative to rambling noise.

Philip Reed thinks the robots are gonna get him today. They’ve been building forces and it feels like the robots will strike any second. Philip needs a break from mechanical men.
