Pre-Orders Open on the 13th Age Fantasy RPG

The upcoming fantasy roleplaying game by “Jonathan Tweet – lead designer of Dungeons & Dragons® third edition – and Rob Heinsoo, the lead designer of the fourth edition of D&D” is up for pre-orders now over at the Pelgrane Press website. I haven’t been following the updates and news on the game all that closely, but from what I can tell by the bits and pieces that I have read the 13th Age is at least worth taking a look at . . . if only because the experience of everyone involved (the designers, artists, and publisher) tells me that this is going to be a professional work with (very likely) more than a handful of clever new ideas. Yes, I am basing that entirely on the names behind the project. When you’ve got a good track record and years of experience people grow to trust you, and I see nothing to make me not trust the creatives behind the game.

What I did read about the game — an interview with Tweet and this post at EnWorld — took me from “that sounds interesting” to “and I must pre-order today.” Take a peek if you’re at all interested in what two Dungeons & Dragons designers are up to today.
