Spotted Online – Poe Ghostal’s Sir Laser-Lot Review

I kinda wanted to like the Masters of the Universe Classics Sir Laser-Lot. A knight in blue and red sounds like a nice addition to the Masters of the Universe world, but the photos of the completed action figure made him look less than exciting. I never could put my finger on my exact problem with the design . . . but now Poe’s Sir Laser-Lot review, I think, nails the problem down perfectly.

The obvious problem with this figure’s look is all the blue. The lack of differentiation between the chest, torso, pelvis, and limbs makes the figure look dully monochromatic.

Yeah, the solid wall of color is a big problem with the toy. Another, in my opinion (and based solely on looking at photos so my opinion is basically worthless), is that the armor just doesn’t look quite right. It’s too thick and bulky; yes, I know that’s what armor is supposed to be, but when it comes to Masters of the Universe I expect my characters to be so damned over-muscled that their armor is minimal. I think what would have helped here is a more Batman-film approach with molded muscles in the armor. Not a lot, but some hints of definition would have helped.

Generally, I can say I’m perfectly happy that I skipped this release.
