Spotted Online – Batman Assists With Lighting Instructions at Action Figure Pics

The Play Arts Kai Batman action figure (review here) has decided to step up and help out over at the Action Figure Pics website. Two recent posts — Square Enix Play Arts Kai Batman: Arkham Asylum – How to Fix Some Common Lighting Problems and Square Enix Play Arts Kai Batman: Arkham Asylum – Experimenting with Spot Lights to Create Dramatic Lens Flare — by Ron should prove useful to anyone who is experimenting with action figure photography. Nice setups and I love getting these peeks at how others work.

Here’s the quick and easy setup that I did for the pic. First thing I’ll point out is that you may notice fewer lens flare artifacts here, even though there’s now two bright lights shining into my camera lens. That’s because the amount of artifacts you’ll get will depend on how bright the light is relative to the other light sources hitting your camera lens.

  1. I have this version of Batman (mainly because the games are AMAZING!) and its such a great figure that it requires very little to make him look awesome, but these lighting affects are just astounding!
