Battle Beasts Coming in January
The IDW comic series may be over, but Diamond Select Toys has announced (and posted more photos on Facebook) that their Battle Beasts action figures will appear on store shelves next month. The first issue of the comic looked gorgeous but didn’t excite me enough to buy the second, the SDCC Exclusive Minimates Battle Beasts set has been sitting waiting to be opened since July, and in general the line just isn’t personally connecting with me. But I must be alone in that feeling and I have to admit that designs like the snakeman Strictus and the spiderman Fenruk look way cooler than the exclusive set.
I’m pretty torn on these and the one thing I know for certain is that I wish Diamond Select Toys had proceeded with the Battle Beasts action figures they displayed at SDCC in 2010. Don’t remember those? See the photos at Infinite Hollywood.

You should go back and read the full comic series if you can, I was surprised by how good it was after they got a little of the first issue exposition out of the way.
