S.L.U.G. Zombies on Clearance at Target
I guess the S.L.U.G. Zombies line (Amazon.com search*) isn’t doing all that well. At two different Targets in Austin this week I’ve seen the toys knocked down — less than $5 for the twelve pack and $2 for the three packs — and the shelves are loaded down with discounted zombie toys. I can’t say exactly what led to the failure of the line, but I suspect the lack of an app, video game of any sort, and no S.L.U.G. Zombies animation all contributed to the fast death of the line.

series 4?! Wow, never saw those.
To me personally it was that they stuck with zombies for this long, it needed more diversity. They had planned in doing monsters and aliens too, which I would have been more interested in, but really I’m just sick of zombies in general, they aren’t interesting.
This is a huge shame, because they’re great figures, with fantastic sculpts, with a ton of little sculptural gags and pop culture references. At least we got four series out of it, so it’s easy to amass a huge army of zombies.
