Spotted Online – Masters of the Universe Classics He-Man Review at Action Figure Fury

One way we can tell that the Masters of the Universe Classics series (Amazon.com search*) still has potential life in it is when a toy site reviews one of the older figures in the line . . . such as this He-Man review at Action Figure Fury. Those of us who have opened more than a handful of these toys may enjoy seeing the basic buck through a set of new eyes; I know how easy it is to get jaded when you’ve handled the same basic design/articulation over and over.

The only point in the review that I’d dispute is the mention that “it’s somewhat of a mass market toy.” I guess the “somewhat” is a bit of a qualifier that saves the statement, but to me — and I think to those who buy direct from Matty Collector and not in Walmart like some lucky fans (see this post at Poe Ghostal’s site) — this is far from a mass market toy since it’s specifically targeted at older collectors and the shipping alone makes it a premium item.

But that’s just me being needlessly picky. Click through to the review at Action Figure Fury and enjoy this look at one of the earliest releases in the Masters of the Universe Classics series (Amazon.com search*).

  1. Thanks for throwing up my review on your site! I stop by from time to time and love checking out what your writing about.

What I meant about the MOTUC line being somewhat of a mass market line is because they are also in Toys “R” Us in those 2 packs with I think DC Universe. I probably should have mentioned that in the review.

  2. @Action Figure Fury – Happy to share! And yeah, technically the two-packs were mass market. But those were just repaints. Your “somewhat” covers that nicely.

  3. What? A TOY REVIEW being NEEDLESSLY PICKY?! Imagine that! 🙂 I would hardly call this line “MASS MARKET” — more like Specialty/Niche Market. I guuuuuuuuess you could say the MOTUvsDCUC was “mass market” but thats about it.

Overall a solid review and always nice to hear a fresh opinion!

With a promise of more MOTUC reviews to come, I’ll definitely bookmark the site!
