Spotted Online – Poe’s Reasons for Skipping the Filmation Subscription

The Filmation subscription for the Masters of the Universe Classics series is open until March 4, and shockingly someone I fully expected to leap in and subscribe has announced that he will not be a part of Mattel’s newest subscription offer.

Visit Poe’s site!

Poe Ghostal’s reasoning for skipping the new subscription are all completely understandable and the post is well worth reading if you’re a collector of action figures. What I find most entertaining is that as Poe’s interest in the Masters of the Universe Classics series is dying my own is growing; I did subscribe to the Filmation subline and am kinda regretting skipping the full line subscription for 2013.

I sure hope that I don’t have any headaches getting the Fighting Foe Men (see “Masters of the Universe Classics Fighting Foe Men and Model Kits”) later this year.

  1. I have to agree with POE on his points. I barely subscribed this year and only RAM Man pushed me over the edge. The whole cost of Castle Greyskull has also put a bad taste in my mouth on Mattel in general. I got boxes and boxes of their figures in my closet that I have no idea what I am going to do with right now.

    MM

  2. I was happy to skip this year’s sub and take my chances with Ram Man. I managed to get him on Sale Day so that decision paid off.

And yet, I’m seriously thinking about subbing for the Filmation line. Even as a kid, I had a love-hate relationship with the cartoon, but I have a lot more affinity for these characters than I do for a lot of the figures released this year.

Plus, with only six figures, it’s a quick in and out and not a sprawling commitment. Plus, at least five of them will combine shipping with my Club Infinite Earths sub.

Yes, I do believe I’ll be subbing this one.

  3. I made a mistake getting the sub this year. I only really wanted Ram Man and maybe NA He-Man. My interest is pretty much dead at this point.
