Bernie Wrightson is an amazing artist and I consider myself fortunate that I was able to get my copy of Creepy Presents: Bernie Wrightson* signed back in December. I also got a moment to gush and tell him how wonderful his work is (and I feel kinda bad that I spent 90% of my time talking to Wrightson and didn’t give Steve Niles more attention, but I suspect Niles understands) and it’s a great thing to get the chance to tell an artist how much you appreciate his work.

Well, now Centipede Press is planning their own love letter to Wrightson’s work . . . and they want our opinions on how they should proceed.

We have been talking with Bernie Wrightson about doing a massive collection of his artwork. We are thinking of doing this in one of two ways. The first is to basically do a sequel to the book A Look Back. This would have material that was not included in that book, and a large selection of material from the years after that book.

The other idea is to creative a super-large, massive Wrightson retrospective and assemble it into two or three volumes that would go in a slipcase.

But, provided you have an interest in a Wrightson collection, what would you like to see? Your opinions matter!

I’m going with the massive retrospective slipcase option. And I suggest that you contact Centipede Press and give them your choice so that they can produce the book(s) that we all need in our collections.
