Affiliate Link – Star Wars Black Series 6-Inch Action Figures Wave 1 Case

I’m still not convinced that Hasbro’s 6-inch Star Wars “Black” series will succeed (see “Five Reasons Why Hasbro’s “Star Wars Black” Will Fail”), but the case mix in the Star Wars Black Series 6-Inch Action Figures Wave 1 Case* doesn’t inspire me with a lot of confidence for this line’s success in stores. One of each of the four figures in the first wave, which makes (IMO) the chances of peg warming Maul even greater. Notice that the Entertainment Earth product photo doesn’t show Darth Maul, even though he’s one of the four figures in the case.

  1. See, I tend to think that Maul will be the more difficult figure to find. I know that some people will want to army build Sandtroopers, but the vintage collection Sandtroopers royally warmed pegs for quite a long time. Maul seems like one of those figures that many collectors would snatch up simply because of his coolness factor. With a 1 per case ratio, I’m not sure I see any of these characters warming. Maybe Luke, since I’m sure many folks are holding out for Tatooine, Bespin, or Jedi Luke.

  2. I would agree about maul being the peg-warmer if he wasn’t in the first wave. I think people who wouldn’t normally get him will because “sw:b is new!!”…i personally only want r2 & the sandtrooper, but maul is cool!

  3. I’d say Luke if anything. I’m not sure these will peg warm at all, though. Unless Hasbro just rolls out millions of them.
