Review – G.I. Joe (25th Anniversary) Cobra (The Enemy)

Didn’t we just look at this figure a few days ago? Not exactly. While I did review the 2007 G.I. Joe Cobra (The Enemy) action figure a couple of days ago (review here), that was the single-carded figure. This action figure is from the Cobra Legions 5-Pack*, also released in 2007, and this particular example of the basic Cobra Trooper action figure is pretty much the same toy . . . with some color variations.

What’s different?

After you’ve checked my earlier Cobra (The Enemy) review) then you’re likely trying to figure out exactly what makes this toy different from that earlier one. Well, the webgear is painted, the rifle is not painted, and there are minor paint variations on the body (most obviously the bandana on the face and the Cobra sigil on the chest).

And that’s it!

Not much of a review, huh? Well, after the earlier Cobra (The Enemy) review and the Python Patrol Officer review there’s not exactly a lot left to say. I suggest that if you’re after some troops for a Cobra display then the Cobra Legions 5-Pack* is a pretty decent buy.

And if you’re after even more info on this mold then the yojoe.com page for this toy should keep you quite busy. Scroll down toward the bottom of the page and you’ll find link after link to every use of this mold that Hasbro’s released to date. Careful, though, because it is a rabbit hole that is easy to get lost inside.

  1. My only issue with these figures is the web gear really sits well on the shoulders. Have you checked out the Trooper from the 30th line? There’s a repaint available from Dollar General as I understand it, a completely different mould.

  2. @Orniphus – Sounds like I better hit Dollar General and check that out. I’ve not see the toys there in a long time; I don’t visit those stores as often as I once did.

    1. Well I’m based in Ireland, so I haven’t seen them there myself, but if they’re not being sold in DGs it’s a very elaborate online conspiracy designed to mislead just me. That said, circulation can be hit or miss from what I hear and there are two different colourways to choose from.
