With the new Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set* out in the wild and attracting buzz I felt this 1987 ad for the Forgotten Realms was a good choice to share with everyone today.
Even though I haven’t followed the series in years, the Forgotten Realms (Amazon.com search*) always struck me as one of TSR’s greatest achievements in Dungeons & Dragons brand building. Dragonlance may have been their first attempt at a brand, but it still feels to me as if the Forgotten Realms grew to be far more important a world and series.
