From a 1979 issue of the Marvel Micronauts comic book comes this ad for subscriptions to your favorite Marvel comics of the day. And even better than the chance to subscribe is the subscription bonus:
“If you subscribe now to at least 2 of your frantic favorite superstars, you’ll get absolutely FREE a fabulous Spider-Man marking pen (without which Tom Jefferson could never have written the Declaration of Independence!)”
Wait, what? Is this a repeat of an ad that Marvel ran in 1976, or did the ad team at Marvel in 1979 not know what year they were in?
