Spotted Online – Funko to Make Garbage Pail Kids Toys
My world keeps getting smaller. Last month we announced at the office that we’re working on a Garbage Pail Kids dice game for release in 2015. Also over the last month Funko has released the Munchkin Spyke toy*. Now those two companies collide into one project as Funko has announced that they’ll make vinyl Garbage Pail Kids toys for release next year. Looks like the 30th anniversary of the Garbage Pail Kids is going to be packed with fun new stuff.
It was announced yesterday that Funko will be doing a line of products including POP! Vinyl figures based the Topps trading card series of Garbage Pail Kids.
For those who didn’t grow up in the 80’s that might not be familiar with Garbage Pail Kids, they were a line of trading cards that satirized the popular line of Cabbage Patch Kids dolls from Colleco Vision. The trading cards themselves became as popular if not more so than the dolls they made fun of with gross and often disgusting versions of the somewhat unique looking doll.
