Affiliate Link – A Long Time Ago
Subtitled Growing up with and out of Star Wars, A Long Time Ago* is one of those sorta books that I’ve just got to try. Along the same lines as Collect All 21!* and Collect Them All!*, the book is more of an autobiographical text than a factual account of the Star Wars phenomenon.
I’ve not yet received my copy of the book (I just ordered this a few days ago), but with luck this will arrive before Christmas. Should be an entertaining read if the sample pages are any indication of what I can expect from the rest of the book.
Some time in the summer of 1977, sitting in the back seat of a borrowed station wagon at the only drive-in in town, Gib van Ert saw the first ninety minutes of a film that changed his world–and the world in general–forever. Then he fell asleep. So began a torrid thirty-five-year love affair with Star Wars, complete with infatuation, lust, devotion, jealousy, betrayal, despair, separation and reconciliation.

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. I find myself going back to it every now and then to give it another read.
