Spotted Online – Megamax 1985 Flyer . . . and is that a Bumblebee/Jazz blend?

Cheap toy month at the Gangustars blog has been lots of fun (cheap toy month tagged), with sales flyers from the past showing us some very cheap (and often ugly) toys. Many have been enjoyable, but this Megastars post caught my eye because of those bootleg Transformers toys.

Below is a part of the flyer dramatically enlarged to try and get a better look at that Transformers-like toy in the center. The top one looks almost like Bumblebee, the bottom one a bit like Bumper (see the TFWiki), but that center one looks like a strange blend of Jazz and Bumblebee in Choro-Q style. Did those toys transform? Were they just toy cars? What’s with all of the questions???

  1. I think those are just an assortment of Penny Racers, or their overseas equivalent, which is what the Minibot cars were based on. You know, so they’d be robots in disguise.
