The August, 1997 issue of Tomart’s included this full-page ad for the Playmates Star Trek Strike Force toyline (Amazon.com search*). I was never all that much of a Star Trek fan so I barely even remember that these existed.
What were they? The best way I can think to describe them is that this was the Star Trek response to the Micro Machines Action Fleet series of Star Wars toys that were on shelves at the time. Fans of this line from almost two decades ago, does that sound like a fair description to you?

I still have a couple of those, including the Maquis ship in the middle…bit generic looking, that one. I had the shuttlecraft and an Apollo lander, too.
