A 1982 Review of the Dark Tower Boardgame

After yesterday’s old newspaper ad I thought it might be fun to see what else we can find about the Dark Tower boardgame. Well, this 1982 review, written by Charla Cribb of the St. Petersburg, Florida Evening Independent, is exactly the sort of surprise find that’s completely unexpected and totally enjoyable.

Cribb’s review is more an overview of gameplay than an emotional discussion of the joy of playing, but what’s here is a fantastic introduction to the Dark Tower boardgame if you’re unfamiliar with how it plays. I haven’t played in about four years so my memory of the details may be off, but the presented overview in the article feels spot on to me . . . and reading this makes me positive that my copy needs to come out of the closet and make it onto the table.
