“Coming this Fall” Star Wars Roleplaying in 1987

From a 1987 issue of Gateways magazine comes this advertisement for the West End Games Star Wars roleplaying game. The company would go on to publish dozens of sourcebooks and supplements for the game, but back when this ad was new, none of us had any idea of just what an incredible job West End Games would do with the property. Even today these books stand out as works of art, and many of the details created for the game would go on to influence Star Wars up until Lucasfilm closed down the “Expanded Universe” a few years ago.
