“GoBots, Transformers invading toy market” in 1984

Seri Herwitz shares all of the fantastic news of Hasbro and Tonka’s success in the transforming robot toy market of 1984, stating that Tonka expected to ship 15 million GoBots in 1984 alone as Hasbro had already shipped 3 million Transformers toys by the end of July. GoBots may have reached shelves first, but Hasbro’s slightly more serious approach to Transformers comics and cartoons proved the better answer over Tonka’s childish works. See, adults, if you treat kids with at least a little respect they repay you by buying your toys.
