Hasbro Rattler Jet in 1984
In the same ad we looked at yesterday we find this box showcasing the Cobra Rattler toy. G.I. Joe was big business in the early and mid-eighties, and classic newspaper ads like this one are one of the best ways to chase down pricing info on the line. Someone ambitious (not it!) could even construct a spreadsheet tracking prices and likely identify the point at which G.I. Joe went from the top toyline to a slowly-collapsing collection of plastic playthings.
