“Lucas Gears Up for More Star Wars” in 1994
Star Wars* fans almost had a completely different 1997 than we remember today. You see, out there somewhere is a parallel universe where the discussion in this 1994 newspaper article was a prophetic reveal and brand new Star Wars films were launched in 1997. Question: If Episode I* had been released two years earlier than we remember would it have had less CG and more practical effects, or would the computer effects have simply been even more video gamey in design?
