Parker Brothers’ Star Wars Video Game and Mattel Electronics’ Pocket Dungeons & Dragons Game
We’ve seen both of these games before (comic ad for the Star Wars game, 1983 review of the D&D game), so this 1982 ToysRUs advertisement explores familiar ground. What I find most interesting about the ad is how many of the games are at “big discounts.” We now the electronic games market crashed in 1983 (see Wikipedia), and here we see early indicators that things were not going well for video games.
