After yesterday’s Star Wars Play-Doh review (review here) I took a little time to search the Google newspaper archives for Play-Doh stories. It didn’t take long at all to uncover this 1991 Associated Press newspaper article. Written by Ross Sneyd, the story comes on the heels of Hasbro’s purchase of Tonka, which carried with it Kenner and the Play-Doh brand. Bit by bit, brand by brand, toy by toy, the history of Hasbro is one of acquisitions and consolidation, and I am now left asking: What will Hasbro purchase next?
