Star Wars Micro Collection, Strawberry Shortcake, and More at Kaptain Kid Toy Shop

What’s with the long, vertical newspaper ads that we’ve been running across lately? Don’t the people of the past know that these ads disrupt my usual approach to sharing the material in the future? Anyway, this 1982 newspaper ad deserves to be saved forever for two very good reasons: Kenner’s Star Wars and Strawberry Shortcake toys, two of the top brands of the early eighties in a single advertisement!

Unfortunately, though, the Star Wars portion of the ad is for the Kenner Star Wars Micro Collection, that failure of a line where Kenner tried to introduce a new scale of figure, vehicle, and playset . . . and parents and children rejected the idea!
