There’s Always Another Toy Line, or Finding Atlantic Galaxy Serie

It all started with a photo posted on Facebook. Micronauts group member Timothy Brecher posted an image of an Atlantic Galaxy Serie toy in response to another photo, and that soon had me exploring the web for info on this old Italian sci-fi toy series.

I quickly found myself reading the Wikipedia entry, a post at bugeyedmonster.com, and an digging through an entire Atlantic Galaxy website. It’s amazing how there seems to always be another old toy line to discover, and the number of sci-fi lines from the Star Wars age is incredible!

I have no idea how this series has existed without my knowing of it, but I am happy that there are still surprises waiting to be discovered. Life would be dull if the past didn’t jump out and share a treat every now and then.

And perhaps best of all there were stories packed with the toys! The above page, from atlanticgalaxy.com, is just one of several pages posted over at the site. As the bugeyedmonster.com post says:

“The cool thing about Galaxie Serie is the resemblance to 70’s and 80’s European sci fi graphic novels, Heavy Metal being the best known among them. You can almost see Mobius in these figures.”

Enjoy exploring the line!

  1. Very much a fan! I’ve been encouraging discussion of Atlantic Galaxy on the MicroFans FB group as an admin all along as a tangential topic. 🙂

My own intro to the line was when I traded for a Humbot with an Italian-American kid on my block back in the late 1970s with no clue what it was. Finding what was left of that original one (which is in my gallery) eventually led me to finding out about the toys from fellow MicroFans admin Ray Miller, and into collecting some via sellers in Italy in turn.

It’s a fun series to collect!
