Transformers Jumpstarters Priced at $4.88 in 1985

The classic Transformers Jumpstarters just don’t get the respect that I believe they deserve. Yes, the auto-transformation gimmick was kinda silly, but the two toys — Topspin and Twin Twist — are truly a lot more fun than many out there realize. I love ’em, and it made me quite happy when I ran across this 1985 newspaper ad which features the toys. They may not be shown, but just seeing “Jumpstarters” in the product list sure made me smile.

  1. Never knew they were for sale, other than sending in your points and paying that extra shipping +”Handling”n charge…

I loved them for as simple as they were, they did move and transformer under their own power when released. Which the managed to stay upright most of the time to boot.

  2. Never knew they were for sale, other than sending in your points and paying that extra shipping +”Handling” charge… Saving up those points was hard and didn’t really get you break on price with the shipping racket fees. But owning transformers other kids didn’t have elevated you to the daily(school-time with maybe the weekend included if lucky) toys trade draft beginning rounds. For kids we had some complex systems going for trades.
