1997 and the Star Wars Expanded Universe Vehicles in Lee’s Action Figure News and Toy Review

I’m sure by now you’ve seen the Kickstarter project for my next book (Universe Expanded at Kickstarter), and as the work continues I keep pulling out old magazines to get a feel for how the toys were received at the time they were new.

This two-page spread comes out of the December, 1997 issue of Lee’s Action Figure News and Toy Review. If the toy photos look familiar to you it’s because they were press shots provided by Kenner at the time. You’re probably remembering these exact same photos from the ToyFare pages I posted yesterday. I wish I’d been publishing a toy magazine back in the nineties; it would have been fun to receive lots of pics and news from toy companies that I could then promote for free for them. Wait a second . . .
