“Explore Fantastic New Worlds of Computer Gaming” with the 1989-1990 SSI Catalog

Hiding underneath all of the booklets, posters, and handouts in the Buck Rogers XXVc roleplaying game is a fun treat for those of us who were actively playing computer RPGs back in the late eighties: a 1989-1990 SSI product catalog! A large part of the catalog is taken up with SSI’s Advanced Dungeons & Dragons games — Curse of the Azure Bonds, Dragons of Flame, and War of the Lance are listed as the new AD&D games and get the most coverage — but there are also other great bits of fun such as the Renegade Legion and Roadwar 2000 games. Check out the best gaming desk pads to improve your comfort while you level up on your favorite games!

Looking through all of the catalog pages makes me want to buy the Gog Forgotten Realms archive that includes Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, and others. Unfortunately, the games don’t seem to be on the iPad, meaning that I’d probably only ever open one of the games and play for an hour or two before closing and never returning.

Anyway, that’s enough chatter. Click through for the catalog pages.

  1. Man, I loved those catalogs! Reading this just now I was flabbergasted that I hadn’t heard of Star Command or Stellar Crusade before. But that last page told me why–those were IBM compatible games–I had a C64!
