Transformers Air Guardian and Commander at Sears in 1984

Yesterday’s Sears ad for the Decepticon Cassettes included a bit of a special treat for those of you who are interested in the release dates of toys: Both Jetfire and Shockwave are listed for sale in the advertisement, showing that these two 1985 releases were definitely available for the 1984 holiday season. This ad helps me out quite a bit; I always thought that I had seen both of these in stores in 1984, but the fact that they’re part of the 1985 series had me assuming that my memory was wrong. Nope. Looks like these two were out in stores early!
