Car Wars Deluxe Advertisement from 1985
Before completely embracing Warhammer, Games Workshop’s White Dwarf magazine carried support for many different games, including titles not published by Games Workshop. It’s from that era — and the May 1985 issue of the magazine — that today’s retro advertisement is from. Steve Jackson Games’ Car Wars (Amazon.com search*) was one of my favorite games of the eighties, and this full-page ad introducing Car Wars Deluxe doesn’t quite do the game justice; there were hundreds of hours of fun inside that boxed set. Seriously.
