Imperial Troop Transport in Star Wars UK Weekly (1979)
A recent From 4-LOM to Zuckuss post celebrates the Kenner Imperial Troop Transport toy. One of Kenner’s earliest attempts at expanded the Star Wars universe with original creations, the Imperial Troop Transport is one of those Star Wars vehicles I’ll always love, and the Star Wars Rebels Troop Transport* that was released last year made me happier than it probably should have. So fantastic to see an old friend updated and brought to life in today’s Star Wars universe!
Right now, though, I’d like to direct your attention to the Imperial Troop Transport and the past. This panel — illustrated by Carmine Infantino — comes from Marvel’s Star Wars UK Weekly in 1979 and offers us another look at the Imperial Troop Transport in action. Hurray! The Stormtroopers in the scene are an added bonus, and as usual all of the artwork by Infantino is incredible.
