Kenner Star Wars Survival Kit Commercial

Over the weekend, in my feature Outfit Set vs. Accessory Set, I mentioned the early eighties Kenner Star Wars Survival Kit as an example of an accessory set. The information about the Survival Kit at theswca.com is fun stuff, but it can’t beat this toy commercial that tells us all to send in five proofs-of-purchase to get the pack.

And if the commercial and that page at theswca.com isn’t enough Survival Kit fun for you then I direct you to the swspaceclub.com Survival Kit page. Looks like there’s no shortage of info on this mailaway kit . . . but why are all of the photos I keep finding online for the set so very small?

  1. I had that!!! I’m probably missing half of the pieces now, but I know I still have the Hoth backpacks, and Jedi Training harness. The other pieces were probably lost in epic battles. Cool commercial.

    1. @The Rook – I love that the swspaceclub.com site talks about how the set was so popular that Kenner ran out. That means this shouldn’t be too tough to find these days at a reasonable price.

  2. Me too! Lost the grapes but I still have some of the packs. The masks are likely long gone too. The little stuff always gets lost. 🙁
