Masters of the Universe Action Figures at Albertsons in 1986
Last weeks Albertsons newspaper ad (where we saw the Chuck Norris action figures on sale) was packed with fun, including Mattel’s Masters of the Universe. What makes this particular advertisement block special is the price; that $3.88/figure price tag wasn’t an extreme discount, which is surprising considering how Mastering the Universe* takes time to explain to us how the Masters of the Universe line was on the decline when this ad was new. I would have expected deeper savings on the toys since Masters of the Universe action figures were reportedly overloading shelves for Christmas of 1986.
