Six Minutes of Mego Planet of the Apes Toy Commercials

Action figures, playsets, a catapult, and remote-controlled (kinda) horses fill this series of Planet of the Apes toy commercials that have been linked together into one six minute video. Sit back and enjoy, and then see the Mego Museum’s Planet of the Apes page for photos and info on the series. That giant Village Playset makes me sad since kids today just don’t get that sort of wacky fun in toy lines.

Some of the action figures have been reproduced over the years (Amazon.com search*), but it’s pretty unlikely that those old playsets will ever be created again. I know if I had unlimited funds and time I’d take a stab at creating vinyl playset cases and crazy accessories; we’re probably all better off without me ever getting the chance to sink tons of cash into creating a toy line.
