Spotted Online – He-Man, Galactic Protector Photos at Action Figure Insider

July’s Masters of the Universe Classics (Amazon.com search*) action figure is the New Adventures of He-Man-inspired He-Man . . . and Action Figure Insider has pics for us to review over two months before the toy’s release.

This is one figure in the line I’m still unsure of. More New Adventures villains would be awesome — Mattel really needs to take a page from the Masters of the Universe Power & Honor book (reading post here) and rework Optikk as Eyeyik because I’ll happily take another eyeball-headed villain — but getting this He-Man feels to me like very low on the list of “figures we all need.” Still, the armor looks very nice.

  1. I’m absolutely fine with it. It seems strange to release NA villains without more NA heroes and so far, it’s been New Adventures Without He-Man. It’s interesting seeing such an iconoclastic take on the classic He-Man and his X3 Juggernaut looks good (even better than the “standard” head, to me).

I’m undecided, but I’m leaning towards picking him up (which would make him my second MOTUC He-Man, after the Thunder Punch version).

  3. This is one figure that I want. I got the original for Christmas when it first came out (it’s lost now & the sword broke short after getting it)

  4. @Faugh – So far I only have the basic and Thunder Punch He-Man figures, meaning this will be my third. But this one looks so different it feels to me like a completely different character.

  5. @Ghost Target – Okay, and that tells me right there exactly why this guy needed to come before more villains: So you (and guys like you) can replace a childhood memory.

Now we need the Skeletor to go with He-Man.
