Take a Look at This Radio Shack Space Walker Toy!

At the Vintage Toys and Action Figures Facebook group today one of the members was selling this Radio Shack Space Walker toy. The toy looks pretty cool, but that box is the best part of the package. That’s fantastic artwork! Has anyone seen this toy before? Any more info on it out there?

    1. @Derek – Thinking about it I feel that Radio Shack had enough cool sci-fi box art that a book of their toy packaging art alone would be a blast.

  1. Looks like one of Echo Toys’ Space Movers series.

I have two of the other vehicles plus a larger toy they made that reused some Micronauts/Microman and Zoid elements called the Grid Striker. I wouldn’t mind finding this one, too.. That said, they are extremely brittle plastic that doesn’t seem to age well (possibly a bit of “gold plastic syndrome” at work, though I think it’s just really cheap materials that Echo used).

    1. @microbry – Thank you! Great link. Do you know if there are any Radio Shack catalog scans out there that show these? Or any sites at all with info? I’m having zero luck finding info on the toys.

  2. Glad to help! This is the first time I’ve seen a Radio Shack variant, so I’ve not seen any catalog scans or such. I may have seen a little more photos and such on one of the vintage action figures forums (and there’s a really bizarre hybrid knock-off of one of the toys out there), but not really any more detailed info. I’ll see if I can dig some of the stuff up I’ve seen, though.
