Space Opera RPG Ad from 1981

The FGU Space Opera roleplaying game has always struck me as pretty dry and far too complicated for its own good. For example, as the game’s Wikipedia entry tells us, “Character creation is a long process in Space Opera, typically taking about an hour for a more experienced and indepth character.” One. Hour. Character. Creation. Damn. That hurts.

I’ve got several supplements as well as the basic game, and even though I’m unlikely to ever find the game useful or play it, the supplements make for inspirational pieces and are worth a look. There’s even a space-opera.net website where you can get a look at a bunch of this stuff. Enjoy!
