The Sideshow Collectibles Hammerhead and Greedo

There isn’t time to write reviews before leaving for Hong Kong so I’ll just say: These two 12-inch scale action figures are remarkable. Yes, I now need the other classic cantina action figures in this scale. You hear me, Sideshow? I need my Walrus Man, Snaggletooth, and Blue Snaggletooth! (See my Blue Snaggletooth request here.)

Greedo (available now*) is the weaker of the two, but only because so much of him is a basic 12-inch scale action figure. He looks great, but he doesn’t look or feel anywhere as great at . . .

. . . Hammerhead (at Sideshow Collectibles*). Man, this guy just feels and handles incredibly. Way, way cooler in person than I had expected. The various 12-inch scale Stormtroopers that Sideshow has released are cool and all, but I have to say that Hammerhead might just be their best effort so far.

What makes him so great? The new forearms and hands, lower legs and feet, and the head all come together perfectly to make this guy a real standout from the crowd. And those giant feet help his balance; it only took a couple of moments of playing with him for me to realize how much fun he’s going to be.

Yeah, we need the other classic cantina action figures ASAP.
