1986 “The Amazing Spider-Man in the Free the Cap’n Mystery” Ad
Featuring the Sogmaster (see my Sogmaster toy review), this ad — from issue #5 of Star’s 1986 Masters of the Universe comic book — shows Spider-Man encouraging kids to participate in a cereal sweepstakes. Love it! And I still wish we saw ads like this in modern comic books.

That’s so funny that you posted this. Just this weekend I was reading the G.I. Joe / Transformers comic from 1987, and this ad was in it. I immediately showed it to my wife and said “that’s Spider-man fighting against the Sogmaster! You know, Cap’n Crunch’s enemy!”
She was unimpressed.
