Review – Gundam Head Collection Genoace Custom

Standing almost 4-inches tall (including the base), this Gundam Head Collection statue (Amazon.com search*) is a very simple Gundam collectible that makes a neat collectible . . . but it definitely isn’t for everyone. Unless you’re a hardcore fan of Gundam and statues you can safely pass on this series of plastic helmets/heads.

Great Sculpt and Paint

As blind box statues there’s no telling which design you’ll get, but I trust Bandai’s work enough to say that if this Genoace Custom head is well-designed and produced — which it is — then the entire series is masterfully-constructed and quite professional. The design and paint apps are actually quite minimal, but the displayed helmet does look neat and likely looks far cooler in a Gundam toy collection than it does standing there on its own.

Not Much to Say

Seriously, there’s not much I can say about this that you can’t tell just by looking at the photos. The head rests on the base — don’t pick the piece up by the helmet or the base will stay behind — and there’s nothing exciting or special about the statue. That doesn’t make it bad, but it’s not anywhere near as cool as a small toy like the Gundam Converge MSM-08 Zogok toy that I reviewed a few days ago.
