McDonald’s Commandrons Mini-Comic “Airborne!” from 1985
I reviewed the McDonald’s Commandrons Commander Magna toy last year (review here) and now it’s time for the mini-comic that was packed with one version of the toy. You see, the U.S. release of the toy was packaged on a blister with a mini-comic while the Canadian version of the toy was boxed. Add to that the Tomy Super Alternators version of the toy from 1986 and that makes three known packaging variants; only one of which included this comic book by DC Comics.
WOW. I’ve owned these toys at different times in my life and had no idea that they actually had some supporting fiction! Thanks for posting that!
And wait, does that reference to Metroplex make this somehow canon in the Transformers universe?? 😉
